RENAISSANCE FAMILY DAY

Hear ye, hear ye. We invite you to join us for our annual Family Day as we journey back to the 15th century and celebrate all things Renaissance!
This is a FREE educational event for the whole family to explore the art and culture of the Renaissance period including the current exhibition of modern Renaissance style paintings Renaissance Alchemy: Egg and Gold.
Programming for the day includes kids’ art activities, story time, falconry and fencing demonstrations, live harp music, maypole dances, a butterfly release, artist talk, food trucks, and much more!
Don your finest Renaissance garb and prepare for a fun-filled day!
Sculpting Sound: A Musical Portrait of Albin Polasek

In celebration of the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens’ 65th anniversary, join us for an intimate evening of music and storytelling with award-winning violinist Ilana Zaks.
Inspired by the life and legacy of Czech-American sculptor Albin Polasek, this live performance translates sculpture into sound through works by European and American composers. Zaks’ interdisciplinary approach weaves music, visual art, and narrative to illuminate Polasek’s creative journey.
Doors open at 6:00 PM for light refreshments in the sculpture gardens. The performance begins at 7:00 PM inside the historic Capen House.
This program is supported in part by an Individual Artist Award from United Arts of Central Florida and is presented in collaboration with the Winter Park Arts & Culture Alliance.
Arts Weekend

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the USA, the APM will feature a relief sculpture by Albin Polasek selected for the 1926 Sesquicentennial Exposition Official Copper Dollar produced for the 150th anniversary celebration in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Polasek’s Sesquicentennial Relief and official coins will be unveiled and displayed for the first time on February 8, 2026, at the Albin Polasek Museum as a part of the Winter Park Culture Alliance Arts Weekend.
In addition to free admission, this special museum program will also include a hands-on activity where participants will design and create their own coin relief activity.
UNLOCKING THE RENAISSANCE: AN ART CONSERVATOR’S INSIGHTS
Thursday, February 19, 2026 | 6PM
Join us for an engaging, in-depth look at the art of the Renaissance with Art Conservator, Diana Galante. This lecture explores what sets Renaissance paintings apart, from the distinctive materials artists relied on to the specialized tools and techniques that shaped their work.
We’ll discuss what to look for when viewing Renaissance paintings in museums—how to recognize the materials, identify the techniques used, and appreciate the craftsmanship behind each piece. Attendees will leave with a richer understanding of Renaissance art and a new way of seeing the works they encounter in museum collections.
